Evangelical church Clugin

Between Zillis and Andeer, an extremely well-preserved village, lies the hamlet of Clugin situated on the eastern slope of Val Schons. The small Romanesque village church looms above the historical centre of the settlement. Inside there are wall paintings by the Waltensburger and Rhäzüns masters, who with their workmen also decorated Sogn Gieri Church in Rhäzüns. The semi-circular apse shows the classical program of medieval choir decoration: a row of Apostles, above them Christ in Majesty on the Rainbow, surrounded by an eagle, a lion, an ox and an angel, which stand as symbols of the Four Evangelists.
