St. Peter´s Church in Tirol Village (Gratsch)
Site Nr. 013
The building stands on the remains of two early medieval churches. The crown of the spire dates back to the second half of the 13th century. In the early 12th century, when the walls of the church were decorated, the lowest nave window was walled up and the south altar niche was narrowed to its present-day form. Further alterations were carried out at the end of the 13th century. Two wall paintings have been preserved: the c.1100- portrayal of “Christus legem dat” as well as one of the few Majestas Domini depictions.
